Published by veronicaspot under Costa Rica Edit This

Costa RicaDiscover a whole other world buried deep in beautiful, natural surroundings by visiting Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Tamarindo is full of hospitable, local folks who will envelope you in their courtesies and culture. This growing tourist destination that is named for the tamarind trees found in the area actually began as quaint fishing community. If you love the outdoors you may just find a new place to call home in your heart.

The beaches of Tamarindo are impeccable, and the clear blue water literally calls your name. This is probably why so many water sports are popularly enjoyed among the community such as kayaking, wind surfing, scuba diving, and fishing. In fact, it is home to an amazing surf camp resort Witch’s Rock Surf Camp. Enjoy top of the line accommodations while you learn how to perfect your surfing skills through their surfing school!

There is no shortage of surfing shops and lessons in the area. In fact, they are just about everywhere. However, if you enjoy being beneath the water’s surface as opposed to riding the waves, take a detour and find Playa Avellanas. Here, you can enjoy superb snorkeling without worrying about the strong rip currents that the Tamarindo beaches are known for.

No trip to Tamarindo is complete without experiencing the amazing ecosystem that abounds. One of the best places you can see this first hand is the Parque Nacional Rincon de la Vieja where you can see beautiful waterfalls, two volcanoes, and six volcanic peaks.

When the sun goes down, the music vibrates through the air with the common live music that can be found around every corner. You’re sure to get your fill of nightlife entertainment. Of course, you can do so during the day among the many beachside bars and restaurants. Relax while you sip on refreshing cocktails that are delivered right to you while your partner hits the waves.

You’ll find plenty of well established, first rate accommodations with elegant amenities should you choose to steer away from the more natural, outdoors setting. Choose to indulge in spa treatments, surf the day away, or relax on the beach…from dawn to dusk you’ll always find something of interest to do or see in Tamarindo!
